Yahoo Mail is a free utility for organizing your electronic correspondence. It allows flexible management tools, but only if you have a Yahoo account. If you fancy an easily customizable email box or feel nostalgic for 2005 — try Yahoo Mail!

Interface 5-/5

Yahoo Mail is marvelously tweakable. Upon setting up your mailbox, you’ll be offered to choose a dictating tonality from a rich color palette: from orange and turquoise to dark silver and black. So, there’s a bit more choice apart from Yahoo’s iconic blueberry. Night mode is also present.

You can organize your incoming mail via a sleek icon system. These icons function like small buttons and reveal the relevant messages from the inbox upon tapping. Their categories include Travel, Unread, Contacts, Receipts, People, and so on.

Features 4.5/5

Yahoo Mail offers a little set of nice features. First, you can integrate your already existing Outlook and Gmail accounts. No need to have a dozen email addresses, here you can stick to just one.

Another cool thing is that Yahoo allows viewing files and messages separately. Like, if you’re looking for a PDF presentation on Zen gardens mailed to you a week ago, you can tap the file view, and inbox will display all media attachments. No need to rummage through the inbox endlessly!

Plus, YM keeps specific messages in their exclusive folders. If you’re booking plane tickets or a hotel room — all relevant info will be stored in Travel. And if there’s a bunch of receipts to sort out, they will be stashed in a respective Receipts category.

Usability 4-/5

Yahoo Mail seems to be a good deal. Its compatibility with other mail services and flexible tools make it a promising utility for keeping mail organized. However, the latest update has seen a load of bugs that make launching terribly long and cause the app’s shutdowns.

Platforms 4/5

The app is available for mobile platforms. Desktop users can benefit from Yahoo Mail online version or install a free browser extension.

Overall

Yahoo Mail is a service that’s worth a try. It’s been reinvented both aesthetically and technically to appear modern and stylish. We really enjoy its smooth managing tools and intuitive GUI, as well as anti-robot filtering. But something must be done with all the dreadful glitching.
