CoD: Mobile is a first-person shooter for Android and iOS. Set in the classic Call of Duty milieu, the game throws you in a heated battle that you can survive solo or as part of a team. Battle royale mode is on the menu too.
CoD: Mobile is surprisingly stunning. Its audiovisuals have a chance to overshadow the likes of Call of Duty III. We have here buildings, bus stops, bunkers, silos, and other impressive imagery marked by war's death claws.
Physics and effects never disappoint as they deliver a nice belligerent vibe with the ricocheting bullets, fuming smoke grenades and detonating claymores. And though it's a mobile game, its geometrics aren't that linear — you can try loads of tactical maneuvers.
Call of Duty meets Fortnite — this the epitome of the game. In the battle royale mode, your objective is to be the last warrior standing. Team Deathmatch makes teams of 5 clash in a hot shootout. Domination is about capturing positions. Sniper Only throws you a DLQ33 and nothing else, etc.
You can choose from six classes:
- Ninja. You get a grapple gun.
- Medic. Can place a Med Station.
- Scout. Can track the enemy down.
- Defender. Higher immunity to bullets.
- Mechanic. Can deploy an EMP drone.
- Clown. His toy bomb revives the dead for a minute.
Typically, you begin the game while piloting your wingsuited body down to the battlefield akin to a flying squirrel. Upon landing, you need to scavenge for ammo/weapon stashes. Then you can go straight into action or lay a carefully calculated ambush.
You can play solo or join a duo/four-player squad. As a group, you can use a light helicopter, tactical raft, SUV or ATV. If seized timely, these vehicles can provide a great strategic advantage, but only for a bit.
CoD: Mobile's controls aren't the sharpest. The screen is a bit cluttered with the Crouch, Aim, Shoot, Reload and other buttons. However, controls are customizable and you can even regulate the sniper scope sensitivity.
Replay Value 5/5
CoD: Mobile has about 250 million players. That means, frenzied action never really stops in the game. You can always join in and hail bullets over the enemy team in one of its modes.
As a free game, CoD: Mobile does a salient job at providing first-grade fun. Optically impressive and haptically dynamic, it's the iconic Call of Duty game. It's just available on your phone. And has an admixture of newer game genres.
